Die Shrines of Europe Association, die 7 marianische Städte aus 7 europäischen Ländern vertritt (Altötting – Deutschland, Tschenstochau – Polen, Einsiedeln – Schweiz, Fatima/ Ourem – Portugal, Loreto – Italien, Lourdes – Frankreich und Mariazell – Österreich) … . Als Vertreter von Städten, die jedes Jahr von Millionen von Pilgern aus der ganzen Welt besucht werden, als Europäer, als zivilisierte Menschen, lehnen wir den Angriff Russlands auf die Ukraine ab und verurteilen die verheerenden Feindseligkeiten der Russischen Föderation auf das Schärfste. Wir trauern um jedes Leben, das in diesem ungleichen Kampf verloren gegangen ist, wir fühlen mit dem Leid unzähliger Menschen und beklagen die Zerstörung des ganzen Landes. Wir fordern mit aller Entschlossenheit ein sofortiges Ende dieses unmenschlichen Krieges und die Wiederherstellung des Friedens für Europa und die Welt!
Der von Ihnen befehligte Einmarsch militärischer Kräfte in Ihre Nachbarin Ukraine ist eine flagrante Verletzung des Völkerrechts und eine Verletzung der Menschenrechte. Ihre Armee vernichtet ukrainische Städte – bei Angriffen und Bombenangriffen: Kommunale Einrichtungen, Schulen, Kindergärten, Krankenhäuser, Wohnsiedlungen werden in Schutt und Asche gelegt, Tausende unschuldiger Menschen werden getötet und Millionen Zivilisten fliehen, um in anderen europäischen Ländern Zuflucht zu suchen. Zu viele Ukrainer sind bereits gestorben – Kinder, Erwachsene, Frauen und Männer. Genug Tränen sind von Müttern russischer Soldaten geweint worden, die in diesem sinnlosen Kampf den höchsten Preis zahlen müssen.

The Shrines of Europe Association, which represents 7 Marian cities from 7 European countries:
Altötting – Germany, Czestochowa – Poland, Einsiedeln – Switzerland, Fatima/ Ourem – Portugal, Loreto – ltaly, Lourdes – France and Mariazell – Austria is characterized by European identity, respect for equality and esteem for people, regardless of language, worldview, tradition or history. In our group, we cooperate for solidarity, democracy and human development in a sense of peace, freedom and justice among people. As a representatives of cities which every year are visited by millions of pilgrims from all over the world, as Europeans, as civilized people, we oppose Russia’s assault on Ukraine and utterly condemn the devastating hostilities carried out by the Russian Federation. We mourn every life lost in this unequal struggle, we sympathize with the suffering of countless people and lament the destruction of the entire country. With all resoluteness we appeal for an immediate end to this inhuman war and the restoration of peace for Europe and the world!
The invasion of military forces commanded by you on your neighbour Ukraine is a flagrant violation of international law and a violation of human rights. Your army is annihilating Ukrainian cities – during attacks and bombings: municipal institutions, schools, nursery schools, hospitals, housing estates are turned into rubble, thousands of innocent people are killed, and millions of civilians flee to seek shelter in other European countries. Too many Ukrainians died already – children, adults, women and men. Enough tears have been cried by mothers of Russian soldiers who will have to pay the ultimate price in this pointless fight.
Russia’s aggression, unheard of on the Old Continent since the end of World War II, has serious consequences for the stability of Europe and the entire world. Therefore, we call for the withdrawal of Russian troops and an immediate finding of a peaceful solution!
